LWY 2023!

Image
Dear Believer, Happy New Year! May your walk with God be strengthened in this new year and may you not be left out in what God is set to do through ever believer in your locality, campus, state and the world. This is a new year and a new season. What is God telling you? What do you plan to do for God in 2023? This is a time to be sensitive to God in obedience.   I'll tell you this short story. Last year, something happened in my room that got me really upset and God asked me to apologize. I asked God why and I heard nothing. Sincerely, I was the one who was supposed to be angry and apologized to, but God was asking me to do otherwise. I was so angry that I went to sleep instead of apologizing. God's mercy woke "silly me" up the next morning and I finally had to apologize. Why did I share this with you? This year, God is intentional about your growth, about you doing more than what you did for Him last year, about being an excellent christian over a mediocre one and y...

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD 5

Image
Studying the temptations of Jesus has been mind-blowing, really. I really learnt a lot and I'm about to share the top ten lessons from the three temptations.  Feel free to contribute and drop what you learned at the end. I pray that you will live victoriously above temptations. Amen. 1. Temptations may necessary not be about sins, they may not be sexual, they may not be about manipulating figures at work or church or stealing. They could be subtle like wanting to respond harshly to a situation, seeing food and deciding not to fast anymore, talking too much or being a gossip etc. The real truth is that temptations will always come and that's why we have the Holy Spirit to help us respond rightly. 2. You can't do life alone. Do it with the Holy Spirit. Life is easier to live with Him than without Him. (John 14:26) 3. Sacrifice and submission is necessary in the believer's journey. Jesus submitted to the Holy Spirit to direct his response. He also sacrificed his power to f...

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD 4

Image
I pray that the Lord gives you understanding as you read today. Amen. ❤️ The devil took Jesus round the world to feed His eyes. He didn't realize that the whole Earth is His footstool. The drama goes thus: Devil: The world is so beautiful and enviable. I deliberately brought you here to see how Earth has faired under my watch. I've given Kings like Nebuchadnezzar and Pharaoh access to parts of the world and it gave them the recognition and power they desired. I'm ready to withdraw power from all the kings that rule over these kingdoms and give to you alone. I'll make you the only ruler over these kingdoms if you'd just kneel before my feet and worship me.  I can't help but laugh, please. The devil is so unpredictable. How did it feel to say that nonsense? 🤣 I know he must have acted the drama in his head a lot of times before tempting Jesus. He must have rehearsed his response in case Jesus fell for his offer and if it happened in the 21st century, he probably ...

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD 3

Image
I suggest that you read today's post carefully and prayerfully. God is set to bless your heart. Amen.  I particularly find this second temptation very interesting. The devil came prepared. It's his boldness to quote the Word for me. How dare you recite scripture you disregard? The devil should not be underestimated at all. That's why we need to be more prepared so we are not caught unaware. He had learned from the first temptation and decided to show Jesus that he knew scriptures, too.  The drama: Satan: Let's try out one of the promises in the Bible. Since you're God's son, try to jump down from this highest point at the pinnacle. For the scripture says, "God will command His angels to protect and carry you, so you won't even bruise your foot against hard places.'' At that point, Jesus could have kept mute because the devil supported his prompt with the scripture, but Jesus quoted another scripture and further silenced him. Jesus responded wi...

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD 2

Image
Lord, please, open our hearts to receive your Word and help us to put you to use all that we learn today, so we can live a victorious Christian life. Amen. Before we start studying the scriptures, it's salient to understand what temptations are and what they mean for the believer. I had a discussion with a lady many months ago and she said God would never tempt a man because He's good and would never allow the devil tempt her too. I smiled at her, because really? The bible records that God will not tempt a man, but we see instances of God testing men, so, it would be safe to say God does not tempt, but He tests us.  The end goal of God's testing is to take us to a higher level in Him and it usually comes with you and I sacrificing something. Abraham in  Genesis 22:1-19 Satan does the tempting. The end goal is to make you disappoint God and further pitch you in a corner where it will be hard for you to receive God's grace to get back to your feet. Samson in  Judges 16:23...

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD

Image
"It is easier said than done". This statement is true, but I believe it is incomplete.  As a believer, there are some things that apply to the whole world that you're exempted from. To do things may be easier said than done, but for you, the believer, there is grace, even much grace available to do them. You and I receive it in Jesus name. Whether you believe it or not, there is grace available for you to stand up to the devil, in boldness, and use the Word instead of crying or getting depressed.  Yes, I know it may seem easier to say "use the Word", when the devil is telling you a lie about that job you're seeking, that grade you are reading so hard for, that person who said he/she will help you, that child that's proving wayward or any situation you may be in, as opposed to using the Word when you really need to use it.  But as believers, it's time we understood that only the Word and truth in the Word can make us free. John 8:32. And we must use i...

THE TRUTH 2

Image
Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word to me this morning. My heart is open to receive and find the truth in your Word from now. I pray I am blessed by this piece and go on to bless others with it, too. Amen. One of my favorite songs is the hymn "Jesus loves me, this I know". 🎶 Jesus loves me, this I know,  for the Bible tells me so. Little ones [insert your name] to Him belong;  they are weak, but He is strong.  I love this hymn so much and I literally sound like a baby when I sing it, gosh. 😍😂 I am convinced beyond confusion that Jesus loves me because it's in the Word. I can see it in the Word and it stands as the basis of my conviction: "Jesus loves me because the Bible (the truth) says it" I said last week that the truth is a rewiring, the truth is in the word, and the truth is Jesus.  After knowing Jesus as truth, you need to go on to know the Word as truth to enjoy total freedom.  This is because Jesus is the Word. John 1:1 It is possible to have ...

THE TRUTH

Image
Lord, thank you because my eyes are opened to the truth, I embrace and in the end, I gain freedom. Amen. This is an interesting discovery about child delivery and how it relates to freedom for the believer. Enjoy your read. 👍❤️ While a woman is pregnant, the foetus moves freely in the womb, but it is bound by the walls of the womb (uterus).  When the baby is ready to make an entrance into the real world, the amniotic sac (water sac), where the foetus floats and develops, breaks, due to the baby's pressure to come out. Then, the mother goes into labour (not labour room) and this signifies the baby is about to be born! 🥳 Then the baby comes out and everyone, most especially the mother is glad. 🤗 Behind the scenes, the baby fought its way to freedom because it realized a truth no one disclosed.  The baby suddenly realized that the womb was not its world and it got tired of those binding walls, forcing the mother to "push" so it could gain freedom. Until the day the foet...

SERVICE

Image
Dear Believer, It's my prayer for you that the Lord will lift you and the rewards of diligent service are yours. Amen! ❤️ When I was much younger, I never liked helping people do stuff, but I didn't mind if they helped me.  Then, I'd imagine being in front of dignitaries, adorned as the most hard working. What a fantasy! 🥴 This brings me to talking about something unpopular among believers: service . Many of us don't even want to hear the words "servant", "service" and other derivatives. We keep claiming sonship and its related scripture. Everyone loves red carpet moments and people running after them seeking to take pictures or even desiring autographs on their items.  You certainly love these things too and hope that one day, God will take you to that level where you're so much celebrated. He will, because His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). However, there's a need to correct this misconception about salvation: "Goodies will...

THE NEW WINE PT 5

Image
From the winemaking process , you know there's a need for you to have a strong foundation in Christ before going to share the new wine (evangelize).  It's necessary to share the new wine (Jesus) because a river of new wine is in you and it must flow John 7:38. It's quite necessary that you're capable of producing new wine before you share it. You don't want to end up like Flora of Abattoir. After sharing the new wine, there's a need for you to go back to the Vine. "Why? Is this needful?" , someone is probably thinking.  Jesus said in John 15, "Without me, you can't do anything."  You can't do anything (bear fruits/produce wine) when you're detached from the vine. A detachment from the vine will soon turn your river to a stinking one. Everything you do will not be backed up with power and when men taste your wine, they'll drink sour grapes. As long as the branch(you) is attached to the vine, it keeps maturing to produce wine ...

THE NEW WINE PT4

Image
Lord, thank you for the privilege of sonship and daughtership.  Thank you for the privilege to share your Word to this believer who is reading. Bless us and expound your Word in our hearts today. Amen. ❤️ Last week, we talked about how you're a branch of the vine and how your responsibility is to produce fruits and serve men the new wine. I think there's a need to share how the wine is made because many believers find it difficult to share (Jesus) the new wine with people even after taking a portion of it (after receiving salvation). I did a short study on the winemaking process and made an interesting discovery that will bless you. This is quite an interesting study. Wine goes through these 5 processes: harvesting, crushing and pressing, fermenting, clarifying, aging and bottling. Then, it is available in stores for purchase.  From the stage of drinking the new wine at salvation to being able to serve the new wine, you must go through these processes, too. When you newl...

THE NEW WINE 3

Image
Lord Jesus, thank you for your word I'm about to read today.  I receive boldness to share the wine you have given me.  May I not be static river in Jesus name.  Amen. Dear Believer, Last week, I asked a question about why you think the wedding host didn't buy wine when it had finished and they had to seek Jesus. A friend sent me a video about the history of the Galilean wedding and I found the answer in there. Once the wedding feast starts according to the Galilean culture, no one goes out until the ceremony is over. This is to lock out uninvited people and keep record of those who're in.  This explains why the welfare team had to panic when they ran out of wine. Thank God for Mary, who had Jesus in the building.  The video is a great resource I think you should listen to know more about Galilean weddings. Here you go. The wine running out in the Galilean wedding also signifies something very important.  I want to believe that everyone who is reading ...
