Tendencies in the Believer: Ingratitude
Dear Believer,
Thank you for opening the 7th episode, 6th tendency in this believer series.
Even as you read about this last episode, I pray that your eyes are opened to see.
Your testimony is around the corner because there's no more hindrance. Amen.

In the Yoruba culture, (a predominant culture in Nigeria), when an elder gives a child something, it is expected that the child prostrates to say thank you.
That's a sign of good upbringing to them; and it increases verbal blessings.
If the child says thank you and doesn't prostate or kneel well, they don't believe s/he has tendered his/her appreciation rightly.
Think of someone you have done quite much for and did not appreciate it. You must have felt unhappy, cheated and disappointed.
Now, be careful not to start nailing old errors. I'm not saying you should start regretting doing the person so much favor, only remember him/her.
If you felt bad, I'm sure God cringes to show his displeasure about ingratitude because He has emotions too.
Samson is one person I know that God did so much for and was so ungrateful. Hian!
He had so much access to power and strength, yet he was never grateful. Not once did He say thank you.
An adage in Yoruba culture also says "when you say thank you for yesterday, you will receive another today."
Ingratitude is a tendency that can block your access to God denying you His abundance. I will liken it to a sickness that can label you as an "osu" (outcast).
Psalm 100:4 says "enter His gates with thanksgiving.". I love the Message translation a lot. It says "enter with the password, THANK YOU"
This makes me think of God's gates as a phone that has a password. Only Him and the ones He chooses to reveal His password to; (the saved), know it.
For a believer that's ungrateful, s/he has probably forgotten the password and will keep trying and it will be "access denied, please try again".
Just like you cannot open and use someone's phone without knowing the password, it will be a lie to think you can receive anything from God with ingratitude.
So, you can't enter anywhere if you're ungrateful. You'll stay outside until you get it right.
It's so easy to ask in prayers, but many times, the tendency of ingratitude has shut the door to our request(s) causing frustration, doubt, mindless prayers, even sleepless nights.
"I will bless the Lord at all times and His praise out continually be in my mouth", [Ps. 34:1].
Dear Believer, there are so many things around that may incite ingratitude, but like the psalmist said, "the cure for ingratitude is constant thanksgiving".
Dear believer, do you think your prayers are not being answered?
Maybe you are ungrateful for the ones you have already. Try thanksgiving. It's the easiest way to enter God's gates and get His attention.
It is a must mention that if you are ungrateful, you will nail old errors to people and yourself, you will keep malice, you will be proud, you will be impatient to wait for God hence; settling for less, you will be impatient to leave His presence, you will also have the wrong motive to desire things. And all these things will close the door to abundance.
Your door to abundance are opened and rain falls in abundance in Jesus name. Amen.

Also, if you don't know God, you can never get the password right.
Even when you know the password is thank you, it probably will never work because there is an identity that can use the password. It is the saved identity.
So that you are not frustrated that God is not answering your prayers, you need to allow Him into your life to have access to His gates.
That you are reading this particular episode is not a coincidence. It was never a mistake, God orchestrated it.
Ask God for Mercy and turn over to Him, ask Him to save & forgive you and give you the access to Him that you may talk to Him like Father to child.
Dear new believer, God hears the plea of the repentant and He's heard you. I pray that God will give you a new slate and answer your prayers by fire from now.
Below my profile is a contact form which you can fill. Endeavor to reach out to me so I can keep praying for you.
As we end this tendency series, I must appreciate God for his stretched hands of mercy to show us the tendencies in us as believers that may be blocking our blessings.
I must thank you specifically too for reading each time with great hope that it will bless you. For sharing too, you fill a space in my heart.
