IMPATIENCE 2
Happy new month to you! God bless you.
We started the series - Tendencies in the Believer on May 5. We'll continue in June too.
Last week, we read about impatience - not waiting for God and the fulfillment of His promise.
We also read about how impatience can hinder God's plans & abundance for us because we have impatiently settled for less.
If you have not read it, you can read here.
Today, we will continue on impatience - in God's presence.
Sometime last year, I read a mountzion comic about a lady that rushed her quiet time and once she caught a rhema, posted it on her media page, rushed out of God's presence.
Just one word of knowledge and she closed her Bible and she's gone.
If you can mirror yourself in this story, that's impatience playing out.
Many believers have similar experiences.
You rush in & rush out of God's presence.
Even while you are before God, you are impatient to leave.
There's no way you can get anything tangible in God's presence if you're impatient to leave.
When God is speaking, you won't even know.
You will pray for certain things and you won't get it just because you didn't hear the instructions that followed.
Yoruba will say such person is an onikanju, kòsí f'ara balè - meaning he/she is impatient and unstable.
Impatience can cost you more than you bargained for.
Impatience will make you overlook the danger(s) ahead.
King Saul in 1 Samuel 13:8-14 was so impatient that he completely forgot that the offices of the king and priest are not same.
Impatience led him to hurry into God's presence to serve as a priest for fear of losing his troops.
He lost his chance of having his kingdom established forever in Israel due to impatience. What a sad story!
An impatient child will not mind staying in the kitchen and continue looking at the food on fire as if the food will get done faster that way.
Impatience to leave God's presence may cause you to miss hearing when rain will fall.
God has only talked halfway and you already hung up the call. How do you want to hear the remainder of his instructions/corrections/revelations?
If you're impatient in God's presence, He cannot trust you with kingdom assignments.
As I end today's episode, please, run with this.
Impatience is very dangerous and it can hinder your abundance of rain.
Scripture says in Isaiah 40:30-31 about people running and getting tired, but some full of strength.
Just like the ones who patiently wait after the party get food, the ones who wait on the Lord renew their strength.
The way I interpret this part of the scripture, there are some people who waited but left impatiently, some didn't wait, but those who waited for God got their strength renewed to continue flying when every other person got tired.
Dear Believer, with all your strength and might, root out impatience at all levels; the Holy Spirit helping you.
Your blessings come in abundance in Jesus name. Amen.
Till next week that I write to you, be conscious of being patient in God's presence. Bye!
Share to bless a friend. Let's get the gospel to all ends of the earth.
I see and appreciate all international readers. The gospel to the ends of the earth. God bless you big!
There's more & we can do this together!!
