TENDENCIES: PRIDE

 Dear Believer, I want to say a big thank you for opening the third blog post in this month. God bless you abundantly.

I trust you have been blessed by the previous episodes you have read.

Since the month began, God has been pointing out some tendencies(inadequacies; not necessary obvious sins) in us that can hinder His abundance in our lives. 

We're on the third already: Pride.

I trust God to open your heart to be receptive of what He has for you today. Amen.

There ruled a powerful royalty, the ruler of the most prominent city in the world while he lived.

He had slaves from many countries and he was rich, powerful and feared.

One day, he had a dream. And dreams in those days were important messages to and for the dreamer.

No one could interpret his dream except a captive.

By the Spirit of God, this captive got his dream interpreted, but the dream had impending consequences. 

This great ruler was however told a solution to possibly lessen the dream's consequences but no, his greatness and achievements made him overlook the warnings. He was too powerful for one dream to scare him.

And the next year, the dream came to fulfillment.

This king is a popular go-to when pride is mentioned. He's Nebuchadnezzar. Dan. 4.

The Bible says pride comes before destruction and haughtiness before a fall. 

Pride is one thing if care is not taken, can change one's destiny forever. 

Powerful Kings like Herod, Belshazzar, Uzziah can bear me witness.

Pride is a serious offense before God. Even Lucifer, the most anointed singer fell into this trap.

How does pride hinder the abundance of rain in the believer's life? 

How can pride hinder the abundance of rain in your life?

1. Pride gets you demoted.

Nebuchadnezzar the great king was given the nature and understanding of an animal. That was a terrible demotion if you ask me.

2. Pride veils your eyes from cautions, advices and glaring doom. [Rev. 3:18]

Despite the dream and interpretation, pride wouldn't allow Nebuchadnezzar see. A proud man is a man in darkness.

3. It gets you in God's bad book and puts you in the line of unanswered prayers, [Prov. 15:2]

God cannot answer a proud man's prayer. Don't you think a proud man will be too proud to pray?

How do you even know/identify pride?

Dear Believer, only the Holy Spirit can identify pride in you. He's the one who searches the intent of the heart.

Peter was sensitive in the spirit when Cornelius was about to worship him, but Herod took God's Glory.

You may even be proud and not know it. Just maybe, that's the reason doors that have one time opened are closing and closed ones have refused to open.

Suggested activity: Ask for mercy today in any way you have allowed pride to hinder God's blessings in your life.

Also, ask the Holy Spirit to search you for traces of pride that can hinder God's abundant blessings in your life. 

God honors the prayers of a sincere man and I'm sure He heard you.
