THE NEW WINE 2

Lord, for those that sincerely need to have a taste of the new wine today, may they not miss the serving time.

Please, reach them wherever they may be hiding and let your Word reach them.

For this reader, Lord, break the walls in their hearts and let them receive your Word. Amen.

Wine being poured into a wine glass

From last week, we read in the Bible (John 2:1-10) that water turned into wine at a wedding.

This, for me is an exciting bible discovery.

How did this happen? I mean, water turning into wine.

A child may say "it's just a bible story".

You (the believer) may say "oh, it was a miracle and it can't be explained.

If I ask you again, "why didn't they go to buy wine when it got finished. They really didn't have to panic?"

You may say "they were poor." You're probably right on this. Some school of thought believe this.

You may also say "the wine store was far from the venue and there was no time to waste time".

You may be right. Every answer you give is correct as long as you can back up your claims.

In the retelling of the Cana story last week, I wrote:

"I'm overwhelmed with the fact that Jesus didn't do anything: I'm sure the Bible would have recorded it if he had prayed, or he had given thanks, but he merely spoke the Word - give to the master of ceremonies to drink.

And that was it! Water turned into wine."

Well, He didn't need to do anything special. Why, you may ask.

For He is the vine himself, John 15:1

How do I know this?

Wine is gotten from the Vine plant. Jesus is the Vine; the producer of wine. John 15:1

Jesus gave them Him (the new wine) because more packets of wine would not make any difference nor, would it satisfy them.

So, what makes the new wine story so profound in the Scripture?

Sure, it was the talk of the town for many weeks after the ceremony -- The servants could not have kept quiet about it.

1. The wine was different from any the people had ever tasted. It felt good taking this one.

2. The wine was a cover-up for the embarrassment the newlyweded couple would have gotten. Everyone comes to a wedding to eat, drink and take home.

Had Jesus not been in the building, what do you think would have happened?

I can't even imagine it.

Well, I am of the opinion that people would've been too ashamed to mention they had been guests at the wedding reception. And the ones who didn't get wine would probably go on to badmouth the ceremony.

Now, you know why this story made it to the books. What does the new wine really signify?

The new wine in itself signifies that there has been an old wine. The master of ceremonies had taken some wine before but, when the new wine was brought, he just knew there was a difference.

I can of a fact tell you that the new wine is better than the old. Ask any true believer around.

No one tastes Jesus and not know the difference. No one gets saved and not feel the Joy of salvation. Psalm 34:8

Dear reader, water is different from wine. Even a little baby knows this.

If a taste of the new wine could bring such compliment, just imagine what will happen if you took a litre of it.

Dear reader, I tell you a truth you probably need to hear again.

Jesus is the realest wine! Jesus is sweet wine! Jesus is the new wine.

Glorrry! 🥳🥳🥳

He's the one that can save you from embarrassments (such as Cana's) and the plunges of sin & the devil.

He's the one that can make your life so sweet (like the new wine) that people will bear the news all around.

Maybe, just maybe you're ready to have a taste of the new wine. Maybe you're ready for a change of story.

If you're tired of living the same routine without a spark of hope, you need the new wine.

Please, say after me.

"Lord Jesus, thank you for your Word to me this day.

Thank you for turning water into wine. I have learned that the new wine is you & I want a taste of it.

Please, save me genuinely, and help me to stand firm in you in Jesus name. Amen."

Dear new believer, God has heard you and the good news is,  "Jesus never withholds the new wine from anyone who wants it."

I'll love to pray with you if you said those words of prayer, please fill in the contact form in the menu bar. I'm glad for your salvation already.❤️

Join us (other believers) at the table with your cup and let's drink together. The new wine is fresh wine, waiting to be served to you and I.

God bless you and see you next week. ❤️

PS: We'll continue the New wine series next week. Be expectant.
