THE STRONG MAN PT 2

Dear reader & believer, it is my prayer that you find your answers here and the Holy Spirit does the work of quickening in you by making sure you stay strong in Him.

Please, read with an open heart and as slowly as you can, shunning all distractions. God bless you, Amen.

A strong man bowing in defeat

Last week, we talked about the strong man in the context of Matthew 12:22-30.

(If you haven't, kindly read it before continuing so you understand this concluding episode better. Click here now)

If you read Matthew 12:29 alone, you'll understand that the strong man can be anybody.

A believer/saved man is a strong man because he now houses the excellency of God's power.

A man in Christ is a strong man because he is under the one who is greater than the god of this World.

He's stronger than principalities and powers, he's stronger than the devil and commands as much power to displace his men from their habitat(s).

Samson was indeed a strong man. He killed 1000 people with the jaw bone of an ass, carried the Gaza gates, and even ropes could not withstand his strength.

His enemies (the philistines), knew he was a strong man. They knew that they had to first bind him, then punish him.

But, they also realized his strength was incomparable (because it was God-given), so, they had to explore his weakness.

Trust me on this: As a believer in Christ, your strength is incomparable.

The enemy bound Samson through his weakness. He had a weakness of women and he couldn't keep secrets for long.

Because we have flesh, the devil finds & focuses on our weaknesses and does the binding through that.

If you did remember, last week, I never said you have to eat or work some abs to pull the strong man down, I said you have to engage warfare techniques that aren't physical.

While we believers use the power of prayers + wisdom to plunder strong men, the strong man tries to find our weakness to bind us with it.

As a strong man in Christ, if you don't want to get pulled down, you have to submit all your weaknesses to the Holy Spirit. All, not leaving any.

The devil has trained strong men to carry out the assignment of finding your weakness. If you don't submit them to the Holy Spirit, you'll soon be "a strong man fallen".

You must understand that every believer is a 'work in progress' (myself, too). We all have weaknesses and submitting them to the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to live above them.

In summary, dear believer, you're a strong man in Christ because you embody someone greater and mightier.

Because you live in the flesh, you may have weaknesses and tendencies the devil can lay claims on. Submit to the Holy Spirit and He'll help you to be stronger than your weakness(es).

God bless you. ❤️

Suggested activity: Consciously list all your weaknesses and tendencies (great & small) on a note and submit them to the Holy Spirit for His help.
