THE GREATER OFFER

In John 4:10-12, the Bible records that Jacob was exceedingly great. God blessed him that he was greatly prosperous. He built a well that still functioned at the time of Jesus. 


A woman came to draw water from the well; at least from a distance.


If you have fetched from a well before, it can be very stressful.


Then Jesus, knowing all, told her she could just ask and she would receive the living water. He gave her a better offer.


"While the text does not reveal whether her tone was sarcastic, rhetorical, or fully sincere, many scholars suspect that she was probably being facetious" - christianity.com.


She asked him "are you greater than Jacob for you to say you have a better option of asking and receiving?"

Jesus said you have not received anything in His name because you have not asked. He said ask and you'll receive and your Joy will be full, John 16:24.


The Samaritan's Joy would be full when she doesn't thirst again and she no longer came to the well to draw water, but has a water source that does not finish. 


Who no like better thing?


Just like Jesus gave a better offer to the Samaritan woman, He is highlighting a better option to you to just ask and receive what you have been sweating to get.


Like the Samaritan woman, are you telling God how impossible it is? How the well is deep and you don't have a bucket?


"Lord, you know Visa is hard to get nowadays"

"Jesus, applying for this vacant post is just out of the box, I'm not qualified"

"They haven't increased salary for about 4 years, it is not worth praying for" 


Jesus says we should ask and we'll receive. This is the best offer to get all you want without struggling.


Is there anything you want? Asking for it in the spiritual fast tracks it to manifest in the physical.

Even if you will still take physical steps, it makes it easier to get.


Dear Believer, God is the God of all flesh. There's nothing hard for him to do.


Dear Believer, ask for that thing you earnestly want in the place of prayer and be sure to receive it physically.

TEMPTATION AND THE WORD

"It is easier said than done". This statement is true, but I believe it is incomplete.  As a believer, there are some things that apply to the whole world that you're exempted from. To do things may be easier said than done, but for you, the believer, there is grace, even much grace available to do them. You and I receive it in Jesus name. Whether you believe it or not, there is grace available for you to stand up to the devil, in boldness, and use the Word instead of crying or getting depressed.  Yes, I know it may seem easier to say "use the Word", when the devil is telling you a lie about that job you're seeking, that grade you are reading so hard for, that person who said he/she will help you, that child that's proving wayward or any situation you may be in, as opposed to using the Word when you really need to use it.  But as believers, it's time we understood that only the Word and truth in the Word can make us free.  Lord Jesus, thank you for your word I'm about to read today.  I receive boldness to share the wine you have given me.  May I not be static river in Jesus name.  Amen. Dear Believer, Last week, I asked a question about why you think the wedding host didn't buy wine when it had finished and they had to seek Jesus. A friend sent me a video about the history of the Galilean wedding and I found the answer in there. Once the wedding feast starts according to the Galilean culture, no one goes out until the ceremony is over. This is to lock out uninvited people and keep record of those who're in.  This explains why the welfare team had to panic when they ran out of wine. Thank God for Mary, who had Jesus in the building.  The video is a great resource I think you should listen to know more about Galilean weddings. Here you go.
